According to the Bible, the worship we give to God is first and foremost a life entirely devoted to God and to glorifying him. We seek to know God and honour him in every part of our lives. But it's also a Sunday service where Christians come together for a time of worship, singing, praying, reading and studying the Bible. At Nantes Nord Church, this time of worship takes place on Sunday mornings, is open to all and lasts around 1 and a half hours.
What happens during a Sunday service? We sing together songs from the Bible. The pastor or one of the leaders leads the congregation in prayer. Passages from the Bible are read. There is a short message for the children, who all receive an activity sheet to help them make the most of the service. There is an offering where church members can make a financial donation to support the work of the church. As far as the offering is concerned, there is no obligation to give and everyone gives according to their means and desire. There is a time of preaching, when a passage from the Bible is explained with practical applications for today. We share the Lord's Supper. The church leaders distribute bread and wine to the Christians present. This sacrament commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and strengthens the faith of the believers who take part.
What about the children? We are delighted to have children present at worship, and every Sunday there is a short message for children. Even if they can't understand everything in the preaching of the Word, the pastor always tries to explain the Word of God to people of all ages, including the youngest. There are activity sheets for young people to help them follow and understand the preaching of the Word. For parents who wish to take a child out for worship, there is a small room next to our main hall.
